		<description>My head literally starts to throb when I read these sorts of things. They make it difficult for me to say 'I'm American' without an overwhelming urge to apologize. That said, I am not a fan of any government institution...with reference to that well-known quote that 'absolute power corrupts absolutely.' (Naturally, Chris has accused me of being an anarchist...but I digress...) 

And I'm not sure what we have to look forward to in 2009. I am never happy with politicians. People I would vote for don't run for President; they are humanitarians and/or spiritualists a la Gandhi, Thomas Merton, MLK, the Dalai Lama, Jesus of Nazareth...

I only half jokingly say, send a monk or a Zen master to office. Meanwhile, may we keep our politicians on a short leash.</description>
