Alan Lewis was trying to think who at eBay had a “distinctive style” and he came up with me. Here are the pics that show what a good job he did.

I gave my notice to eBay last Friday and have an expected end date of Dec 31st. Yeah, it is terrifying to think about this kind of change but I think it is the right thing and the right time.

The response from friends and co-workers has been pretty supportive. Only my married friends with kids have given me the “you’re crazy!” response and that is mainly around the not having a job lined up. Everyone else has mainly said that they understand that 9.5 yrs does seem long enough.

The goal now is to find a good backfill and get the team setup before I head out.
