Hanging out in London
Monday, June 4th, 2007Slept really well even though I’d taken the long nap. I got up this AM and connected with Ryan Melcher and Megan Lacy who were already in London and we made a plan to meet up. I made my way to the train and met up with them around Covent Garden. We walked around a bit, grabbed lunch, jumped on the double decker tour bus to get a quick lay of the land, and then walked some more. We had a quick dinner at Bella Italia, a nice Italian place, got some wine and split a pizza.
We had play tickets for Avenue Q (we saw it in London but this is the .com link) which was accurately described to me as “the Muppets meet South Park” and it was a riot. There was a sex scene where two of the puppets are going at it and during the intermission I heard one of the English girls behind me say, “It was like watching Americans having sex!” Not sure what that meant but I won’t soon forget the comment. 
After this we went and grabbed a drink and desserts and then I jumped on the train to head back to Richmond.
