Crimson’s statistically impossible employee issues….

Monday, January 1st, 2007

OK, I guess it is possible but every single time I’ve been to Crimson I get the same story about how the service is slow because one or more people called in sick. Really? Can this really happen every night I go there? Seems like it is either a really bad story that they’re feeding us or they hire the wrong people. Yes, restaurants tend to employ the folks who might not show up but this is a pretty swanky restaurant and aren’t there people out there who are looking for work and would show up?

Anyway- had dinner there last night with Sravanthi, Nirav, and Alice. Food was good but it was 30 minutes from the time we were sat to the time we were asked for our order. The nice part was the hostess that recognized we had been ignored and took our order to get things moving along. She was helpful and friendly and I was actually happier not to have the waitress at that point. The only down side is that I think the tip ended up going to the waitress. Also, when we got there a few of the folks at the table behind us were completely drunk. They were nice enough and super apologetic but kept bumping into us and talking loudly about the different girls in the restaurant and which ones were hot (and what made them hot).

So, we had 9:30 reservations, sat down at 9:30, and left at a few minutes past midnight if that gives you a sense of how long the 4 course meal took to complete. Luckily we had good company, good food and wine, and no where else to be.

Happy 2007 to you all!
