The company party…
Ok, tonight’s company party turned out to be pretty fun. Hung out with people I liked, met some people’s spouses who were pretty awesome (Rolf and Mark- your wives take top billing), and I had someone grab me to introduce me to a spouse and the introduction went a little something like this:
“This is Bill. He doesn’t care what you think of him or his project. He’s just going to get it done if he thinks it is right and won’t let anyone stop him.”
Then- the crowing moment:
(Co-worker grabs me by the hair) “You see this? No one at eBay has a pony tail! He’s a rebel!”
Second funny part was meeting Hillary’s husband, introducing myself and telling him the story of how Hillary scolded me during a meeting and said she would never let her husband dress like I do. Longer story but suffice it to say my shorts in the office and long hair were the focus of the attack.
Yes, I was being mocked but it was so funny. I love seeing people outside of work and getting a sense for their real, relaxed personalities. It certainly makes working with people more fun when you know a bit more about them.
