A few of my current work projects…

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

I know I don’t cover work often in this blog and that’s by design but here is a quick recap of a few currently live projects I worked on recently:

  • Map It - a new test site that calls out a search feature that has been on the site forever but adds in the visual aspect of a map.
  • Deal Finder - an intersting finding interface that tries to call out items about to close and with a bunch of filters you’ll have to try.
  • eBay Holiday Dreams - this promotion features a variety of Disney prizes. It began at 12:00:01 am Pacific Time (PT) on November 24, 2006 and will end 11:59:59 pm PT on December 3, 2006.

Check them out and let me know what you think.

Podcasts are my new daily favorite

Sunday, November 26th, 2006

With the new iPod and the newest iTunes I’ve been discovering podcasts have come a long way. I’m not so interested in mom and pop broadcasts but when I found the Business Week cover story podcast it all became clear. I’ve been reading Business Week more frequently and the podcast is a great companion. In this one specifically the authors and editors discuss the articles ineach week’s magazine. I’ve found these to be awesome and give a great deal of background that couldn’t be fit into the written article. Thinking about it from the business side, it actually gets me to buy the magazine every week so I can be clued in when I listen.

So, each day I listen to music when I’m getting ready but on my way to and from work I now listen to podcasts from Business Week, NPR, This Week in Tech, and so on. I’m still not watching news and only read the business and A&E sections of the weekend paper so this is at least getting me closer to knowing what is going on in the world a little closer to real-time.
